Story: Blue Chip Recruiting Roundups Completed

Record-breaking attendance

The 2006 Blue Chip Recruiting Roundup tour concluded this past weekend with workshops in Central Texas (Texas State University-San Marcos) and East Texas (Stephen F. Austin University—Nacogdoches). Record breaking attendance continued to be the trend in San Marcos with over 100 players attending (almost twice last years total). Icy road conditions held attendance down in East Texas on Sunday, but over 450 juniors and families met with Texas Recruiting Consultant Randy Rodgers over the past two weekends. Previous workshops were held in Dallas (SMU) and Houston (UH).
Sponsored in part by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Magazine, workshops consisted of recruiting education presentations by Coach Rodgers as well as personal experiences shared by 2006 seniors who had just signed National Letters of Intent. Each player also filled out a questionnaire and had his picture taken for possible inclusion in the 2006 Dave Campbell’s Texas Football. Players also had an opportunity to submit a highlight tape for review as part of the selection process for the Top 300 senior players as selected by the magazine.
Players still wishing to submit videos/DVDs are encouraged to mail those to Randy Rodgers by April 1.
