Story: BLUE CHIP RECRUITING ROUNDUP HEADS FOR HOUSTON

Workshop Sunday afternoon at Rice University

The 2009 Blue Chip Recruiting Roundup tour, sponsored by College Coaches Network, heads to Houston this weekend for a workshop at Rice University. Over 300 Texas high school players have participated in the first three Roundups in Abilene, San Marcos, and Dallas.
Blue Chip Recruiting Roundups are designed for high school juniors and their parents to better educate themselves about the college football recruiting process. Admission is free, but prospects are asked to bring a 20-25 play highlight tape and their best single game tape from the 2008 season. This is not a combine—there is no workout, but players will be measured and have their pictures taken for possible inclusion in the 2009 Dave Campbell’s Texas Football magazine.
The Rice workshop will be held in the Shell Auditorium in the McNair Hall just east of Rice Stadium. Participants should click on the Rice University Campus Map at www.rice.edu. Then click on McNair hall from the dropdown menu of buildings on the left. There is plenty of parking. Registration will begin at 1:30 with the program set to start at 2:30.
Please register online http://www.collegecoaches.net/randyrodgers/. For more information parents, players, and high school coaches are encouraged to email Randy Rodgers at randy@randyrodgersrecruiting.com. Registration forms are also available on the Forms page of this website.
The remainder of the tour winds up the following weekend with a Saturday workshop in McAllen and a Sunday workshop in Tyler. Times and directions to those events can also be found on the Events Page of this website.
